This book documents our award-winning public art projects from 2020-2024. Showcasing public sculpture, crochet, weaving, beading, writing and songwriting, the book explores themes of peace, recovery, belonging and friendship.

Today, Art on the Concourse is a conduit between local artists, residents and neighbors, exhibiting public art within our community. In 2020, to mark the 40th anniversary of Fordham Bedford, we organized a neighborhood art walk, nurturing talented artists and fostering new intergenerational partnerships in the height of the pandemic.

Since 2021, Concourse House Mother Artists (AKA Mothers Art Crew) have led our neighborhood public art program, taught art to communities across the Bronx, and helped to break through the stigmas surrounding homelessness in New York.

The book takes shape as a neighborhood art walk with art installations located at Fordham Bedford’s primary locations, Concourse House, Refuge House, Serviam and West Farms.

Our thanks and congratulations to the many artists, photographers and community members who feature in the book!
